Become a junior mechanical engineer: her career

Can you please tell us more about your educational background?
After a two-year intensive preparation courses for the entrance exams to top French engineering schools, I joined the ENSEM (Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Electricité et de Mécanique /
National School of Electricity and Mechanics). The first year enabled me to acquire solid foundations in mechanics, electrical engineering and digital sciences, before specializing in 2nd and 3rd years in mechanics.

Why this choice?
I have always been drawn to mechanical design. Projects during my training have confirmed this affinity and after my end of studies internship in mechanical design in the field of agricultural mechanics, it was obvious to me that I would continue my professional life on this path.

And so, what about your professional career?
I joined the MECAGINE team after graduation. I spent at first 4 months in the premises of the company. During this period, I was trained on new software and I took part in the projects of the internal mechanical design office. Currently, I work for a large professional computer company on a modular data center project.

Can you introduce your job to us?
My job is to imagine and realize the mechanical design of parts, structures, mechanisms, special machines … It is a varied profession, where the sectors of activities are numerous and where an engineer often takes care of a project from A to Z.

What do you like about your job?
I like the diversity of tasks and projects. The problems encountered during a mission are numerous and push us to be ingenious and creative. And then, it’s a profession deeply rooted in reality. I like the fact that at the end of the project, I can see the fruit of my work.

Can you tell us a few words about MECAGINE?
I chose to join the MECAGINE team because its work corresponded to what I wanted to start my professional life: enrich myself technically by working for various sectors of activity. I quickly felt comfortable in the team. In case of problems, there will always be someone ready to answer our questions.
